If you’re new to tantra and taking your first steps in tantric magic, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve put together this short and simple guide for beginners who, for whatever reason, don’t have a guru and are learning on their own.
We understand from experience that practicing tantric magic without a guru or adequate knowledge can lead to very frustrating results. Many beginners find the name of a spirit and its mantra on the internet or in a book and simply sit down and begin repeating it.
After a few days without experiencing anything or obtaining any results, they become very frustrated and abandon the mantra. Some might even abandon tantra, considering it false. But that only happens when practicing without even the most basic knowledge.
One of the most important requirements is to know the essential rules of tantric magic. These rules must be strictly followed when performing tantric rituals, especially those related to the invocation or evocation of spirits. To read about these rules, simply click HERE.
In addition, you can not simply start the ritual without the adequate previous preparation and expect to obtain results. One of the most important requirements is to have spiritual energy or Tapoval and this is mainly achieved in the following ways:
1) Through the the Guru Mantra.
The continuous and disciplined repetition of Guru Mantra is highly recommended before attempting any tantric experiment and is required to complete at least 100.000 repetitions of it. This can take at least a month, depending on how many repetitions you perform each day. Ideally, one should perform at least 21 rosaries daily, using a 108-bead Hindu rosary.
The guru mantra is the special mantra that the disciple receives from their guru as an act of initiation. But those who are not fortunate enough to have a guru can choose the mantra of any deity as their guru mantra. It should primarily be a deity with whom they feel a special and deep connection, who will become their primary or guardian deity, also known as Ishta Dev or Ishta Devata (if it is a female deity).
Most practitioners or Sadhakas usually choose Lord Shiva as their Ishta Dev and the mantra Om Namah Shivay as their guru mantra. In any case, whichever deity you choose, you should dedicate an altar to him/her with their idol or framed photo and recite their mantra daily in front of that altar, lighting incense and a candle and offering fresh flowers (if available).
The Guru Mantra is a powerful tool that not only accumulates Tapoval but also strengthens the aura of the practitioner or Sadhak, protecting him against psychic attacks and negative entities, like an invisible shield that surrounds him from all sides.
2) Practicing celibacy or Brahmacharya.
Celibacy is one of the most powerful tools for accumulating Tapoval, which is why monks, saints, and sages of all religions hold it in high regard. The mixture of Guru Mantra and Brahmacharya is a powerful combination that offers astonishing results.
3) Through meditation.
The continuous practice of meditation, or Dhyan, is a powerful technique not only for rapidly increasing Tapoval, but also for elevating consciousness and spirit to higher dimensions. This is extremely important and useful for contacting the higher beings with whom we wish to connect.
4) Remain silent.
Remaining silent is a powerful technique for preserving accumulated Tapoval, just as celibacy is practiced to prevent energy loss. Ordinary people don’t understand that unnecessary talk wastes a great deal of spiritual energy, so tantrics remain silent during their practices and occasionally retreat to caves or huts in the mountains or forests to avoid contact with people.
5) Avoiding physical contact.
Another way to preserve your accumulated Tapoval is to avoid any unnecessary physical contact with people at all costs. Spiritual energy is transmitted through physical contact, like an electric current. Greeting people by shaking hands is not only an act of courtesy but also an energetic exchange.
Therefore, not only is there a risk that the other person will absorb your hard-earned spiritual energy, but they could also transmit negative energy to you, thus contaminating your aura. This is why, in some civilizations that have understood this secret, other types of greetings are used instead of shaking hands.
Once you’ve chosen your Ishta Dev or Ishta Devata as mentioned above, the first thing you need to do is perform their ritual to please them and connect with their energy. At Tantrik Magic, we’ll be publishing rituals for gods and goddesses from which you can choose. When your guardian deity connects with you, they’ll give you their blessing for success in your future rituals and also protect you from negative energies.
The next ritual to be performed is that of Lord Ganesha or Ganapati. This is the ritual that every Tantric has to carry out before delving into Tantric magic. Lord Ganesha is the destroyer of all obstacles, both material and spiritual, and his help is essential to destroy any obstacles that may contribute to the tantric ritual of the practitioner failing to be disrupted. Now what you have left to do is the ritual of Lord Shiva. Lord Shiva is lord and master of Tantra and very little can be achieved without his help. He and Lord Ganesha are the main pillars of tantric magic and that is why a rosary of each of them is always recited at the beginning of any practice, in order to obtain their blessings. In conclusion, the information in this post does not constitute a complete initiation in the traditional sense, but rather a summary containing the most basic and essential requirements for entering the magical world of tantra. Meeting these requirements will considerably increase your chances of success in tantric magic.
